About Me
Hi! I'm Andaiye Qaasim
Dr. Q has over ten years of experience in non-profits and higher education facilitating diversity, equity, inclusion work; community organizing; education advocacy; teaching; student programming; and international education.
She's worked with various stakeholders across diverse communities including higher education professionals, folk artists, teachers, youth, international students, education practitioners, and a variety of community advocates.
She brings a complex and global lens to DEI work. For example, she is rooted in anthropological theory and arts-based culture frameworks having worked with arts-culture non-profts. She incorporates tenets from community organizing and advocacy via her work in education advocacy on various community initiatives and legislative issues to expand access and equity in K-postsecondary education. She’s deeply rooted in higher education, first through the lens of culturally responsive pedagogies from her work as a college instructor and leadership trainer. And she further deepens her DEI lens from her background in international education in higher education.
Having worked with students from over 50 different countries, providing academic and student services; and helping to spearhead DEI initiative across campus.
